Meet Morgan Smith, Marketing & Business Development Manager at AD Projects
Morgan grew up in Mississauga, Ontario, and spent her adolescence in Burlington. After graduating high school, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Media Studies at the University of Ottawa, including a semester abroad in Denmark where she deepened her focus on media studies. After completing her degree, she moved west to Vancouver and eventually to Whistler, where a meaningful friendship sparked a transformative period of travel. With her close friend, Morgan ventured to Kenya, Cambodia, Australia, Thailand, and Bali before returning to Montreal and Toronto. Kenya left the strongest impression. She volunteered and lived with a host family, immersing herself in a way of life profoundly different from her own. The experience shaped her deeply, and with her partner’s roots partially in Kenya, she hopes to return soon. Morgan’s passion for writing and storytelling naturally led her into marketing. In Vancouver, she joined a music publication as the editor of its music section, reviewing concerts and albums while engaging with the city’s creative scene.
Morgan started at AD Projects after she met Adison, the founder of AD Projects, through her best friend (who is also his partner). Initially hired part-time for marketing and social media, Morgan’s role quickly grew into a full-time position in Marketing and Business Development. Today, she leads the company’s public-facing efforts, including event management, social content, and new business opportunities. Her hospitality background lends a natural ease to networking. Although construction wasn’t originally on her radar, she has found it to be both creative and collaborative. Her love for design shines through in projects like the upcoming Jaybird Studio, which she visits weekly, and the recently completed Fable showroom and café on South Granville. Morgan lives in Squamish and enjoys the outdoors in her spare time, including camping, biking, and a recent bike- packing trip in Victoria.
